Birgit Ludwig
(b. Luxembourg) is a filmmaker
and photographer currently based in London.
Her filmic works take the form of unconventional dramas or experimental
documentaries, interweaving realism and a poetic uncanny.
Her London-set short film The Partition premiered at Rencontres
Internationales Paris/Berlin and was screened at the British Film Institute
(London) and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), among others. She is
currently working on a feature-length film project.

the summer 2025.
Her work has
been selected for Révélations as part of the European Month of
Photography 2025 at Neimënster (Luxembourg), and featured in the show Reality Check at Konschthal Esch (May–June 2025). In 2023, she was a finalist at the Sarajevo
Photography Festival.
Birgit holds
an MA in Experimental Film (with distinction) from Kingston University and a BA
in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, London, where she was awarded the

Her
directorial practice has been shaped by her experience as an actress with
European filmmakers, including Jacques Rivette, Alain Raoust, and Olivier
Babinet. She has directed a stage production of Crave by Sarah Kane
and collaborated on Antoine Davenne’s performance series Production Lines at
Gasworks, London.
